Final physical panel!
(I couldn't (no matter how hard I tried) get this image to upload big enough to read the text - so I uploaded it as three images. Please forgive any gaps in the display)

Final presentation.
I know it is hard to read - so text from left to right:
- Also if the sheds get retrofitted later - will provide site line through to river from my design.
- Raised floor level in shed.
- Raised garden in design
- my design.
- Matched levels allow/provide for access to my design if the site (sheds) are developed at a later date (e.g. in the current proposal for HSW).

Technology panels..
As Digital technology in architectural design has been a focus of our tutorial group I have done up panels for the uses of technologies in my design proposal:

Section in progress...
In class I was told to try and work on a section in much more detail - so here is the beginning of it - I decided to start by looking at how the mechanisms work - so the lift and moving floor have gone in.

Technology.
I have wanted to integrate this in my design - and had the around with that in mind - but when I put the glass as the pathway through the building for the public - I thought about how to utilize the movement through.
A sensor system - combined with the GRC switch glass - which is opaque, but when you pass an electrical current through it, goes transparent. So as you pass over the glass sensors pick up your movement and send the glass underneath you opaque.
The glass is a roof for the dining area - so this also solves the problem of looking up skirts with walking on glass roofs.

Theatre??
In terms of context - adding in an outdoor theatre fits in with the many theaters of varying sizes around Brisbane, and adds a benefit for the general public - as opposed to just my Supper Club's patrons.
An idea at last...
After many scribbling an idea is starting to form...
I was thinking about how the entrance was one of the weakest parts of my last design - and decided to integrate it with something positive added on for the community. An outdoor theatre/projection screen - using this to connect the ground and basement levels. I still (however) wanted to keep the upper floor disconnected from the exterior - so the entrance to the 'tapas lounge' is through the restaurant, up stairs or a lift encased in glass, which break through the concrete structure - taking the place of the interaction between two parts from the original Folie (and lacking in Project 2).

Sketch room ideas.
Just a few possibilities of interior ideas...
I have been playing around with a new idea based off the feedback I got from the presentation, nothing solid yet - but I have been looking at some re-arrangements...:

Feedback on the presentation
5 Main points to consider [from the presentation feedback]:
- The three separate parts are too separate and need to be integrated with each other more.
- The entrance needs to be developed and also the building needs to have hints as to where the entrance is.
- "Too SketchUp-y", Which I take to mean doesn't look real enough and doesn't link together - A series of parts not a single building.
- Plans need more development - they don't read well.
- Develop the theme. I think this will become more evident through developing the interior.

Folie to Building
I have tried to keep visually and theoretically in tow with the initial Folie. This is just a quick linking poster for the 5 min presentation.

Site context
Studying the site again was one of my first points of call, but these are the diagramming detailed up to match the plans and sections.
300's Re-worded...
An activator of space. How do you activate a space that lies stagnant? A space once a central hub, a light of hope during depressing times, and an intersection of four suburbs - but now empty, a space of passing. Road transport passes above, River transport passes by, footpath transport passes quickly through on route, never stopping.
Investigating all levels of the site - the birdge, the cliffs, the pathway, the river, the views.
A folie creating pause. It almost fits in, but there is something not quite right which causes intrigue. Stirring somewhere in the back of the mind - a tweak. The first time you might just pass it, but then the little thought itches and itches until the foliebecomes a destination.
An intriguing structure, it is possible to observe the internal workings, but with no entrance apparent.
In design. Too heavy to stay upright, but it does. Overbalancing, you are wary of it as you approach. Slowly you become comfortable of it’s shape and can explore. A resting point with a view - despite the historical disturbia filtering through, higher ground gives a feeling of safety - you can rest your bike or your feet, and relax.
Slightly disturbed. filled with counter balancing, it doesn't appear to stand in balance.
Around the site are so many objects of interest. Old bomb shelters, heritage docking sheds, a structural sculpture of the world expo 88 - none of which you can explore. This folie is about creating an object that appears to grow from the site - to allow an interaction with the site, without compromising the historical elements.
You have to fully explore the site to find the entrance.
Folie from the site. Elements from the site - concrete and steel. Solid, yet floating, like the bridge so dominant above it. Like it’s concrete counterparts on site, a shelter - from a downpour, from the hot summer sun, or even from the buzz of the city. Brisbane climate at it’s worst. Not a tourist destination, but a local pit stop - an integrated part of social structure again, just on a minute local scale.
Materials from the site.

Plans, Sections, 3D!!
A little more solid since playing around with boxes and sticky-tape, to find the layout, and sketchup to find a form...

Digitally floating...
I have so many idea floating around at the moment in terms of digital technology, the three components of my Supper Club are the Creek base, the human, and the bridge. I want three different experiences for each space.
The creek base. [Dining]
- Holographic river
- adaptable moving floor
- Un-expected furniture (felt pebbles)
The Human [function spaces]
- Projection
- smoke?
- Adaptable glass (enclosed, and open)
The Bridge [Bar/VIP]
- Kinetic or weather based components
- Audio??
At the moment the digital components are taking a second spot to the physical layout, and I think for the next presentation I am going to continue with this, but with an end view to both change in Layout and interior spaces.
